An electronic signature makes documents distinctive. It enables identification of the signing party as well as any changes made after the signature has been affixed. The abovementioned information is obtained during verification of an electronic signature thanks to the software recommended by the issuer of the certificate used for the purpose of affixing of the signature being verified. Correct verification of electronic signatures affixed using various standards and technologies recognized in a given country or worldwide requires installing, maintaining and updating a number of applications.
WebNotarius allows you to verify an electronic signature in a much easier and effective manner. The service is available online, among others through any given Internet browser, and by the same token it does not require any additional software to be installed on your computer.
The WebNotarius® service enables instant and secure verification of various electronic signature formats as well as related public key certificates. The verification process is concluded with issuing of an electronic certificate, which may be used in a hearing of evidence.
WebNotarius® may cooperate with any given IT system through the most popular communication protocols (including webservices), thus enabling automation of the verification process.
WebNotarius® service distinguished by the European Union
The European Commission ordered IDABC to assess over twenty European systems designed for verification of certificates and electronic signatures. Three of them were distinguished, including e-Notarius (currently WebNotarius) as compliant with the EU requirements.
Review of European validation services is to provide assistance in finding a solution available in the future for all citizens of the EU Member States. The selected system should enable easy and fast verification of certificates and electronic signatures used within and outside of the EU.
WebNotarius was distinguished for, among others, legal responsibility of the verification process as well as the support for the TSL lists implemented by the Member States.
