What is PSD2 directive?
Directive (EU) 2015/2366 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2015 on payment services in the internal market..
The aim of PSD2 Directive (Payment Services Directive) is to increase consumer safety and protecting them from irregularities in cashless payments. This directive also aims to increase the speed of cashless transactions.
One of the key changes of the directive is the introduction of strong customer authentication which means that the identity of any customer who uses electronic payments has to be double-checked.
